In this article, I want to test and compare the best text-to-speech AI technology on the market.
Some of these tools are free to use, but the best ones are paid tools that can be used for commercial purposes, including YouTube.
But before I show you the results of the comparison, let me explain to you what text-to-speech technology is.
Text-to-speech (TTS) is the generation of synthesized speech from text. It can be used in various ways such as generating talking computer alerts, replacing a human voice on the phone, and creating digital voices for games and applications.
This technology, along with others like it, offers new ways to make the world more accessible by allowing those who can’t read text on a screen to have the ability to access content in different ways.
That said, many technology giants are entering the text-to-speech world and creating their own AI voice assistants.
To make the most of the test, I will use male and female voices for each tool, so you can decide for yourself which one is the best.

Making a voice over for your video is not as easy as it may sound. This is because people consider voice acting to be an art and thus making a voice over for your YouTube video can be challenging and time-consuming process.
Let’s take a closer look at the best ones.
Azure is a service from Microsoft that offers 270 natural-sounding voices across 119 languages and variants. It is recognized as one of the tools on the market and is used by many brands to communicate with customers. Azure is a realistic AI voice generator that can speak in different styles and emotional tones. It can be used for text readers and chatbots.
IBM Watson is a cloud service that provides a way for you to have computerized voice conversations or create the text-to-speech audio of your written words. Brands can use Watson to improve customer experience and interact with users in their native language.
Amazon Polly is considered to be the best text-to-speech technology on the market and has also one of the most accessible pricing models.
Amazon Polly provides dozens of languages and a wide selection of natural-sounding male and female voices. It offers fluid pronunciation of text that enables you to deliver high-quality voice output for a global audience.
It also comes with pay-as-you-go pricing, low cost per character converted, and unlimited replays which makes it a cost-effective way to voice any applications.
While all the services above are made for brands to communicate with their audience, for YouTube this AI technology should not be used.
Instead, you should consider giving a chance to the Murf. This is an incredible tool that allows you to use AI voices that sound like humans, even for commercial use.

However, to get the best AI voices that sound like humans and not robots, you have to pay $100 per month. Which is absolutely out of reach for many people, who are starting their YouTube channel.
That’s why I recommend Murf as an alternative to the WellSaid Labs.
